Cubester had been badgering me to take him to Llandegla, and so I took a day off today. Happy to report that the torrential rain didn't stretch as far as Wales, but boy was it windy!

So, after a bit of blundering about trying to find the diverted start of the Red route we set off. The first three miles or so were a bit of a bugger climbing into the headwind, especially on the open stretch past the Grouse statues, but when we finally got onto the technical singletrack bit after half an hour it was awesome. Nearly got blown off the Northshore at one point.

I'd rate the trail highly overall. I loved the bermed sections, but the whole thing could do with a few more drop-offs and bigger whoops. I'll upload a video of one or two of the swoopy sections. Loved it, can't wait to go again.

Cafe lives up to its reputation!

Hoping to go at some point with my son - we often stay at the coast near Prestatyn, so it's not far for a 'little' detour............

Yeh llandegla is ace and does what it says on the tin... its my local track as only 18 miles from my house...
know what you mean about the wind today cube.... i was actually out on my road bike today and biked past the centre and on past down into llangollen... then turned around to ride back up the horseshoe pass...
