Live Strava segments whilst riding to a chosen route , is it possible ?

Out on the club ride this morning following a selected course , within the route we have 3-4 segments that we all have a go at , i had these segments starred but i didn't get no live feedback or shown where the segment was starting & finishing , sure i have seen this before but sure that i'd just selected "Ride" and wasn't following no specific selected course .

Is it me with user error or is it not possible to get live feedback over the segment whilst follwing a selected course ?

Is Live Segments activated in Garmin Connect?

I turned the live segments off as every time i went near one it took over my garmin and got very annoying .

You are right in thinking you can't follow a course AND have live segments, unfortunately you have to pick one!
