Hi - have also posted this on Beginners.. new to this forum and a novice cyclist. I have a road bike (Trek Domane 5.9) but want to be able to go off road - cycle paths, forest trails etc - if I fancy it. I have now ordered this bike which isn’t technically a “gravel” bike... but Liv have advised I should have their Avail AR 1 which has slightly wider tyres. Is this going to be a huge problem? What’s the difference between the two really for my purposes (apart from I prefer the colour of the Advanced 2..).

For off road type stuff beefier tyres are good, you have the road bike already :okay:

Post actual links to the two bikes on the Giant site so folks can compare :okay:

I don't see the point of this bike - it's very similar to what you already have, basically a womens' version of the domaine. These bikes are not designed for off-road, they are road bikes with a slightly relaxed riding position for longer distance road rides. If you want to ride tracks and trails, then you would be better getting something with wider tyres - I'd look at 40mm or wider personally. Gravel/adventure bikes, CX, hybrid, or MTB, that sort of thing.
