I have a very excited ( & nervous) 7yr old... He joined a local cycling club VC Jubilee a few weeks ago, but because of being on holiday he's only been able to attend one session which he loved, He was really looking forward to going again this Saturday.
There is no club run this week though, as there is race event on.. Which he is now entered in!
We're off shortly to check out the park & get some practise in - It's the Little Dog Brighton MTB
course & he's not done anyhting like this before so fingers crossed

Racing in Stanmer Park, at any age, is ruddy marvelous. I used to race there in the 90's and did the Big Dog on my retro mtb two three years ago.

Enjoy.

PS Get him over to Preston Park to race round the track there. Huge fun.

EDIT: PPS Make sure you take plenty of water with you. Stanmer Pavilion has been torched and there will be no water supply on the day as a result.

His club do Weds eve there, so hopefully he'll be able to go to some of theose sessions 'if' I can arrange a babysitter for his brother.
We've been for a reccy round the park today, he struggled with a couple of the trails through the tress as they were so lumpy & full of rooty bits as he called them, but he did well.
Roll on moro morn

We had a peek in the huge marquee out back yesterday, Fynn required it looked like a fairytale wedding room LOL!

Right....the time is almost upon us, i've been up since 2.30 -When #1 son came home & realsed he'd left his keys at work! I've had plenty of time to get organised as I gave up getting bcak to sleep at 4am
Just need to wake my bubbas, drop #2 at his dads then 3 & I are off to Stanmer...YAY!!:hello:
