I like my gadgets and this looks nifty, it packs up into a small rubber case, but I wonder if the swinging links are strong enough>

Sorry, I have one of those but (to validate Fab Foodie's request) I didn't realise that's what you were talking about from your post.

Anyhoo, yes, love it. It is permanently strapped to the frame of my MTB and fits in seconds whenever I want to leave the bike to pop into a shop, for instance. It seems well made, it has survived 4 months with me so far. Rather heavy, though.
