I feel I've overlooked this amazing singer. She's still with us, but health took her singing voice away a few years back.
Watched this BBC doc by accident:

They released 2 albums as a trio, and she & Emmylou one as a duo. All highly recommended. Fine singers all, and each very different to the next.

Agree great voice, one of my all time favourites along with Emmylou.
When I was in my twenties and single I had a friend who started a well known British folk rock band and his wife who knew Linda reckoned she could 'fix me up' with her. Nothing ever came of it of course.

She had outspoken views outside of music, which I find quite admirable. There's a great interview about playing South Africa in the movie.

Unlike @Cycleops , Jim Carrey dated her, andGeorge Lucas was engaged to her for 5 years.

Ronstadt has never married.[166] Speaking of finding an acceptable mate, in 1974 she told Peter Knobler in Crawdaddy, "... he's real kind but isn't inspired musically and then you meet somebody else that's just so inspired musically that he just takes your breath away but he's such a moron, such a maniac that you can't get along with him.
