Been spending a lot of time in Lincolnshire recently and I would like to move to this district.
I have been staying in Grantham and I really like it there.

I have been checking out property on Right Move, very affordable and great for my position/situation, but the problem I have is knowing where the best places to move are if I didn't choose Grantham.

Can anyone with knowledge of this district give me some pointers on the good and bad please?

Thanks
Andy

Boston is probably cheaper because it's not on a major rail line and last I heard was having some political turmoil. Seems nice in my limited experience of it, though.

Boston, you lot have to be joking. A 7 mile dead straight dead flat road to get out of it in any direction.

I work there 3 days a week, Not even the people who live there want to.

Lincolnshire is not a nice county and the councillors running it should be ashamed of themselves.

If you have to live in Lincolnshire I would go for any of the Cliffside villages between Grantham and Lincoln.

Boston, that's a health black spot so socioeconomically it reflects that. Are you retiring there? My mothers brother was mayor of Grantham and I gather it is a bit of an oasis in a desert. The coast around Mablethorpe is nice

Why is it not nice? I've lived in Slough 37yrs, Lincolnshire seems 100 times better than Berkshire, people, area, cleanliness. I can't find a fault as yet!!

Be interested to know your views.

I have lived in Lincolnshire longer than you lived in Sluff, the places I mentioned are nicer than other parts. It is the only county as far as I know with a coastline but no nice tidy seaside towns.

It has one of the worst road accident death rates in the country, I could keep going but I have been up since 5am so a tad tired.

We are on the move as soon as the youngest leaves home.

Try YouTube, 50sniffs Boston for a real true insight, he lives there and does it well. He also does an honest Skeggy.

It might seem @screenman has a downer on parts of Lincolnshire but look at the Jarman Score or Index of Multiple Depravation IMD. I have a sneaky feeling that the Jarman score might be hard to find ....

Are you retiring there?

Mum's slowing up and needs help with autistic son (my brother) also help with her mother (my nan) - so we are all moving in together mortgage free and I can ease the load off mum. Plus my partner is in Grantham.
We like Lincolnshire, just want to make the right choice as to what area we move too. Hearing someone talk down about it is fine, @screenman talks about Lincolnshire like I talk about Slough.
