Hello, I'm new to road cycling and was wondering if anyone has done the Lincoln sportive at the end of march before.. Are you doing it again, would you recommend it to a beginner. Are you doing it this year. Thanks all
This question is a little confusing as the Lincoln Sportive is held on the Sat 10th May before the Lincoln Grand Prix the next day

Its been run a few years now and depending on the distance you choose to ride goes out to the Lincolnshire Wolds. The climb up to Michaelgate makes the finish interesting
The one I think you may actually be asking about is this one - The Belvoir Classic on 23rd March

This will be the first time the event has been held so no previous riders.
I've ridden in both areas and they can both be described as rolling at times but nothing too steep (except Michaelgate!) Both cover some really pleasant roads.
You say you are a beginner and both events offer short routes about 30 miles. However you may miss out on the best scenery and I also think the shorter routes offer particularly poor value for money £25 for 30/35 miles.
It may be worth trying one of the slightly longer distances or be brave and go for the full monty, but only you know what you are capable of.
