Now that we're looking autumn in the eye, I really need to get my act together and sort out a 'be seen' front light for my Orbea but I'm struggling to identify one that will sit nicely on the handlebars without being obscured by the cables! :banghead: I've though about turning one upside down so the beam is directed below the cable but my worry about that is that the fixing won't be strong enough to hold it in place.

Anyone else come across this irritating problem and what's your solution?

Not another lights thread

I have a pair of THESE that served me well through last Autumn/Winter. They are really pretty bright, nice and compact, rechargeable via USB and sit well on the bars.

My CAAD10 is pretty busy with cables around the area you fit lights too, but these work well for me.

FWIW though, if I was buying be seen lights now I'd be getting LEZYNE FEMTO's because they look cool :becool::whistle:;)^_^

Try the Moon Comet and the Comet R as they have a nice wide band that spreads light. If the budget extends further you cant fail with the Exposure Race, Strada and Blaze lights.

Not a fan of Cateye anymore. They refuse to use lumens and lux in their specs half the time and there are cheaper lights elsewhere for the same properties (Moon being a good example)

Just get yourself a triple T6 from China and you won't have to worry about cables getting in the way, they'll be melted into oblivion

Hope Vision One.
Strapped underside of the bars.

I use 2.

With a perfectly round beam they are one of the few lights really suited to upside down mounting.

I did it with mine for a while, since been relegated to back-ups after getting new shinier lights.

I didn't want to break the bank and I was using a Smart 35 Lux and would have continued to use it, however the left lugage at the Tour of Flanders lost it; I'm now running two Smart 25Lux (PlanetX were selling them for £3.99 but that was several months ago).
