Need to sort out a lighting board for my stap on carrier. Useless at the DIY stuff, anybody out there know what a reasonable price would be to get socket fitted or alternatively the whole lighting board including reg plate and connections etc. Accept that these things aren't necessarily cheap but don't want to get ripped off by my local dealership either.

Many thanks.

Getb a 12N socket done at your nearest towbar centre, and buy a light board fron Decathlon. there are two types of light board, one with red triangles and one without.
The ones with triangles are for the back of a trailer and indicate that the veichle has a towed unit. The ones with no triangles are for bike carriers or anything else that obstructs the vehicles rear ligjhts.
A cheaper alternative may well be a high line carrieer that avoids covering the rear lights. They do icrease fuel useage due to them being higher than the vehicle but they would save you the bother of having a towing socket fitted.

Cost fro a 12n socket wouldprobably be in the region of £30-40, some of which depnds on the type of car you've got, newer cars are generally more expensive.

Don't be talked into "twin" electrics, unless you know your next purchase is going to be a caravan.

I currently have a tow bar so this doesn't apply but in the past I've had a wandering lead fitted in the boot making it very simple to just plug the lighting board in. This also minimises the cost when it comes to fitting
