Light touring/ Sportive (tires)

I am taking part in the Caladonian Etape. I will be cycling from Aberdeen to Pitlochry with rear panniers. Will Gatorskin 23x7000 be upto the extra load.

It's not your tyres you need to worry about. What weight are you carrying and what sort of bike/wheels have you got?

Shouldn't be a problem. 20kg in the panniers is no different from someone 20kg heavier riding the bike with no panniers.

I prefer 25mm tyres for that extra bit of comfort, especially with panniers of stuff on the bike.
