Light advice please

Well my other half decided that she too would like a bike to get herself to her work and back. She wanted something cheap and cheerful, so got a bike from the local recyke-a-bike for $45.

It's an old city type thing and will no doubt be fine for her until she decides if cycling is for her.

Of course, being a girly, she was adamant that she wanted to put a basket on the front for her handbag! Problem is, it totally obscures the handlebar such that I can't attach a front light.

I assume there must be a front light that can attach to the front of a basket? Can someone give me some clues where I can get such a thing.

This does'nt attach to the basket but it can be fitted to the front fork

I'm sure someone on here will know of a basket attachment that your after but the front fork one is the best i can find

You can get light extensions that fit on the handlebar and lift the light above the basket - or ones that fit to the front of the basket:
