Just a little moan.....
Modern life is a pain in the arse sometimes. I work nights, my OH works long hours including weekends, mainly Saturdays but Sundays also. Take this weekend, I finished work at 6 a.m saturday morning & my OH was out the door at 8 a.m, so there is no point in me going to bed as I have to be around for our 10 yr old son. I might get a couple of hours sleep on the sofa during the day but thats about it, so that rules out a ride on Saturdays as going for a ride when you have been awake for over 24 hours with a 10 yr old isn't the best of ideas!
I go to bed Saturday night but stay in bed till 10.30ish Sundays as I need to stay up late sunday nights to get back into the night routine, so that rules out a sunday morning ride, leaving only sunday afternoons.
I woke up as usual today at 10.30 looked out the window and it was raining. 'Sod it' I thought, I'm going out anyway. I haven't sat on a bike since Thursday and I need to go out for a spin, so I went downstairs and and put the mudguards back on the bike ( I took them off for the summer, typical British summer, I should of known better)
When I finished fitting the mudguards I made a coffee put on the p.c and that is about as far as I got. Missing out on sleep takes its toll the next day, I really can't be bothered. That was 4 hours ago, numerous cups of coffee have been drunk and I'm still of the 'pooter sitting next to my bike sporting the newly fitted mudguards.
Sometimes I go out for a ride Sunday night/Monday mornings so I don't wake the rest of the family as I potter about downstairs, so I might do that later......
