However this is a better listing for modern (ie; still open!) Lidos

I'll be biased, & think that the Ilkley Lido has the best views
Otley (its near neighbour has/had plans to reopen its own pool)

Jubilee Pool at Penzance is a stunner, due to the size & location, but I've not seen it since 2010 (and that was probably the first time for over 15 years!)

Likewise Morecambe had its Super Swimming Stadium on the foreshore, next to the glorious Midland Hotel
I remember it derelict, when I was a kid, it was a heck of a size
The 'Bandstand' is/was still there, in 2009
I still have a soft spot for Morecambe, & no!, it's not the quicksands in the Bay

There's even one the Yorkshire Dales, or was, at Ingleton, and in Derbyshire (Hathersage)

Not a patch on the now defunct Ryton (Ferndene) Lido

(it was bloody cold ...)

Only thing I remember of Morecambe lido was how cold the water was!
Grange over sands had a good one too. I remember jumping off the high board as a kid. It felt like half a mile up. I've seen it recently (still there but derelict)..it's about 10m

Hathersage in the Peak District has one which, understandably, has been rammed this summer

Considering that the last lido I visited was in Ouray, CO I will have to respectfully disagree.

Forgot about Grange

Morecambe also had the 'tidal pool' up towards Hest Bank (opposite Happy Mount Park?), which was the archetypal concrete walls, refilled/replenished at every high-tide

This may be the rebuilt(?) one

Peterborough lido, we re-laid all the slabs in the 90's proper pain of a job.
Home made type slabs and a lot were covered in thick mortar after lifting so needed a lot of hard work with a hammer and bolster to clean.
Thousands of slabs to lay  with a lot of:banghead:

my mum worked as a attendant in the summer of 76, spent many days there,in that super warm summer.

I have been very lucky over the past 15 years or so in that everywhere both of my sons have lived there has been a quite superb lido. My youngest son, daughter in law and grandson currently live in Letchworth, Herts. There is a fantastic lido in Letchworth and also nearby Hitchin. I have enjoyed a good swim at both. They are open between May and September each year and are very popular. Sometimes I have been on a 20 - 30 mile bike ride on a hot day when visiting my son and we finish with a very refreshing swim at the lido in Letchworth as he only lives a 10 minute bike ride from it.

My eldest son who now lives in the north west with his partner and just 3.5 miles from me and Mrs LG used to live and work in Cheltenham about 12 years ago. There is a really good lido there too. On Friday I was on a 50 mile ride with my chum @ColinJ and as we rode through the northern outskirts of Bury I pointed out the former Lido site at Limefield. It ceased to be a public swimming lido in the 1980s and fell into disrepair. But the Council 'rescued' it and operate it as a model boating 'lake' where I believe it still holds model boat (remote controlled) racing competitions. It is still signed and called 'Lido' and is adjacent Clarence Park with attractive surroundings and well maintained grounds. I think this is a more appropriate use for a Lido in the North West as (present heatwave excepted) it is usually too cold for frequent outdoor swimming - even in the summer.
