Bought this the other day mainly for milage record and time out also , but I tested it against MMR and the milage differed so my question is which is more accurate and also do I have to accept a slight discrepancy in accuracy

MMR?
Bike computers are not particularly accurate measuring devices.
The indicated distance travelled will vary depending on your tyre pressure which itself can vary with ambient temperature.

Mapmyride sucks, when I used it, it was out by as much as 1% over a ten mile ride.
