I've got one of the l/s jerseys which has been ok and the socks.
Leggings lousy baggy fit and ended up taking out the pad and wearing lycra shorts under them.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Any idea when Aldi will have their kit on sale?
Fancy a pack of those spoke reflectors ;).

I bought some Aldi cycling socks once and they were pretty good, but only slightly cheaper than buying some in a bike shop. However, the rest of lidl/Aldi gear looks pretty awful to me. Fair enough if you're on a really tight budget and it's either Lidl gear or nothing but for everyone else; surely it's a false economy.

I also dread to think of the pay/conditions of the people in china/india/sudan where this stuff is being produced.

AFAIR the pump was 'made in Germany' and a few other things too. Or maybe that was just the packaging ... the pump is really good value. If you don't already have a track pump you should and this is an excellent substitute. The gauge (on mine) is pretty accurate and there are extra fitments in the top bar for blowing up Boris airbeds & stuff.

I have two Aldi winter jerseys, used them over three winters and they are still going strong.

Me too, I had an Aldi windproof fleece and bike top that were fine. I still have a hi viz top, it's a bit sweaty as waterproofs go and a rather snug fit but excellent at the price. Having said that some of the gear is a bit cheap and crappy, so watch out. Have a good look at the stuff before you buy, but it's generally pretty good.

The Lidl socks are excellent - usually coolmax - cycling socks are one of the great cons of all time. £6 for a single pair is considered normal. And they are all of course made in the far east.

Not sure if it's on sale next week but the Lidl "Camelback" thingy is excellent. Lightweight strong material, cost £10 or £12 I think, the best ratio of water to gear storage of any bag I've seen - not too big or too small. Mine has rather iffy zips but I think I was just unlucky.

Never bought any of the tops - they look to me as if the fit might be a bit off and not very breathable.

With clothing I think its generally best to pay for quality.

I doubt they'll be any worse than the more expensive stuff.

Their stuff is cheap because they buy in HUGE volume. Not just a handful of items that your LBS orders from the wholesaler, who ordered a few hundred from the manufacturer, but TENS of THOUSANDS of items, so they get them cheap. Stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap is what Aldi and Lidl are all about. A £10 jersey form Lidl is probably identical to a £30-40 from your LBS.

dont buy the £5 track pump, it exploded (made a very loud bang) while trying to get 90-100 bar into my tyres. The metal tube had come away from the foot rest, it had just been glued together
