Anyone else using one of these > ? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lezyne-hp-drive-pump-2011/

I bought one yesterday, and it seems well made and all that, but I can't get the hose to connect properly onto the valve.

When I went to pump my tyres up to a nice high pressure in a park and I failed miserably, and ended up with a softer tyre than when I started!

If I thread it all the way down, which feels like a snug fit, i doesn't inflated, but if I thread just onto the first threaded part of the valve, it inflates but then works itself free straight away.

I can't see anything with it, but it is not as straight forward a fit as any other pump I've used with a hose connector.

Anyone else had this problem??

what valves are on your tyres and are you matching the right end of the hose to the relevant hose type?

I have Presta valves and the other end of the hose is Shrader; I would have a totally flat tyre if I tried to connect that end!

This is what is baffling me. I didn't expect to have to experiment to find the optimum connection, but I guess I'll have to. Bah.

I don't know the adapter but it did find a while ago that if my hose wasn't completely straight the unscrewed Presta valve could foul the valve head and screw itself shut again as I attached the adapter. Or at least that's what I thought was happening.... But making sure it goes on cleanly (valve either at the top or the bottom of the wheel) seems to have cured it.

I have a different Lezyne pump, but with a similar, screw-on head. And have found that backing-off half a turn, or so (after screwing the head all the way down) works for me.
Had to use the thing for the first time in over a year, this Friday.
