Hi guys, I was just after abit of advice as to which light I should go for regardless of the price.

The above light are the ones that have caught my attention, I need a really powerful bike light without the hassle of an extra battery pack.

Which would you recommend or is there any others which I have missed

Thanks in advance

I can manage on unlit country roads and pitch dark countryside park with a cataye volt 300. It is as low as I'd go and I favour my Smart 700 which is more than good enough to see by for such riding.

Cateve do a volt 800 that is properly bright too.

1500/1600 would be way more than you'd actually need for what you suggest.

II use & rate the volt series very highly and have had the odd niggle with bottom end lezyne lights if that helps at all.

Currently use a Volt 300 and a Lezyne macro duo(got that free with a Pro Cycling sub:smile:).

Both are good and are ok for unlit roads but to be honest after being impressed so far with an Exposure Trace R rear light I'm looking at getting one of their Strada front lights;it's a lot of cash but everyone seems to rave about them and the companies after-sales service.

If the budget can't stretch to that I'd be looking at the higher volt models;you can get spare batteries for them too.

I currently have a Cateye volt 300, on full power on country lanes its about just enough light, could do with something brighter. Most of my riding is in the evening.

I find that although it lets me see further in front okay ish, it doesn't give me peripheral vision, I would like to see more light sideways.

I only have this one light at the moment, I was thinking of using the volt300 on flash as a secondary light and get a main light.

I know it sounds overkill maybe with my type of riding to get something 5x than what I currently have, but I would rather splash the cash and get something really bright that will keep me going a few years.

It seems like the cateye has the edge for now.

Personally I would get a dynamo setup. I have a problem with the switch on my lezyne SuperDrive but it's an earlier model.
