Hello

If you do not own a spirit level, in what way would you make sure the saddle is level.

Just look at it. Dead level might not be the best suited to you anyway. Better to go by how it feels than how it looks anyway. Adjust until you hit optimum comfort.

Rest something flat like a piece of wood along the top of the saddle. Then carefully measure the distance to the floor behind and in front of the saddle. Adjust the angle of the saddle so that both these measurements are the same. Simples!!

Find a brick wall on level ground (check this by the point at which wall meets ground!) Lean the bike against it and check against the bricks. A decent brickie will have used a level to get the courses right.

Hello

I posted this because I could not find my spirit level, so as suggested here I got one of
the spirit level apps on my iPhone, levelled the saddle using it and I have to say after doing so
it does seem a bit more comfortable, I am getting it right slowly, think it may need a bit of
moving forward now.

Thanks all.

To be absolutely sure you really need a laser. To get it even more level than that I think there is a proscess which can be undertaken at the large hadron collider in Cerne. Don't ask me what they do but apparently they can get it level in up to 11 dimensions.
