I'm a bdy idiot always flexible and wanting to say yes well next time the ex wants a favour remind me to say NO NO NO NO NO you sort it out yourself.

My Mum told me to give without ever counting the cost. It was very good advice but I have great difficulty following it sometimes.;)

It's more a case of him taking (the .... )than me giving. :tongue:

I agree with your Mum. But did she say you always have to give, or did she mean that when you do give, you do not count the cost. Do you "see" what I am trying to say?

I am often asked to do things, etc, but sometimes it would be unrealistic for me to say yes to those requests.

I would second Bigonabianchi's advice, give yourself time to think about it, when you are asked to do something. Saying "no" takes practice.

My Mum meant that if you choose to give anything then give without counting the cost. My Mum was a very caring person. She would give her last anything to anybody. She made no distinctions. My Dad caught her taking blankets and food out to a tramp who was sleeping rough under a hedge once ;)
I never ever heard her say 'I gave you this or that and you now owe me ,thanks, gratitude, favour or payment' etc
