Less than two weeks to go...

...until the biggest ride of my life - a three day coast to coast.
The most I've done before is the 60 mile great north bike ride.
That was last week and I found it really quite tiring.
So what should I do between now and next Thursday?
Should I just rest or go out two or three times a week for an hour's stretch my legs?
Or should I get out in the hills Wednesday coming and try some hard ascents (I do find hills difficult).

I'd recommend a combination of hard and easy riding with good periods of rest in between.

Make sure your bike is in as good a nick as possible: well inflated tyres, smooth gear changing, new brake blocks etc. You can't predict the weather, but try and have suitable clothing for anything that is thrown at you.

Eat sensibly before and during the ride with lots of water.

Good luck, you'll have a great time.

Sounds like an awesome ride!

Before doing the Suffolk Sunrise, I followed this training plan. Obviously it's too late for you and the distances aren't relevant, but the principal suggests that you should still be riding but have tapered-off: keeping things ticking-over as it were, rather than spanking it.

In the short period twixt then and now, it's unlikely that any training you do will have a material effect on your performance; however, you will deplete your energy reserves and risk injury by giving it 110%.

Wishing you the very best of luck!
