I've got a Lenovo G50 running a Lubuntu operating system. It won't boot-up after an upgrade has regenerated the GRUB file. The blue screen appears with the Lubuntu 24.04 text on it and then it goes black as normal. However it stops there, it doesn't go on to display the logon screen. I've left it like that for 30 minutes and nothing happens.
Is it a problem with the way the GRUB file is being generated or stored? Is the GRUB file stored in the BIOS or on the hard-disk? Could either of these be at fault?
