Only 21 weeks to the grande departe, and so far this year I have been out on the road twice! A hilly 66k and a brisk 30k so today seen as it was fine I decided to pop to the seaside on a pleasant 260k round trip.

Knees and shoulders now giving me muchos pain as they revolt against such abuse, know if I had to ride again tonight or indeed tomorrow I would be a DNF so just hoping more miles will make it all easier!!

Hows anyone else coming along?

LELers are usually RRtYers as well. They are usually well up in the points league too, not to mention the AAA table.

With my busted arm, I don't think I'll be able to do it this year, tho I'm getting plenty of miles in I'm way too slow due to the painkillers.

Plus with misses and daughter compromising on me riding a Brompton I can't see it happening, plus I think Ive missed the entry. I would imagine its all full by now.

Always next time I suppose.

It near enough filled up within a couple of hours of the entry going live and is now full.

I will throw my progress in, feel like I have done OK with the miles given the bitter freezing weather - managed flat 200s in Jan and Feb, and rode the Season of Mists route today. I had forgotten how hard and hilly that one is for only 100k; pedalling squares may have been a feature of the latter part of the ride.

I am pretty optimistic about the distance but want to improve the climbing, as I am sure that what doesn't kill me will make me stronger. Next 200 is the humourously named Delightful Dales, which includes Park Rash and the Coal Road to Garsdale. The sportives have "monsters and challenges" and audax has sublime understatement.

If that goes well then it is The Old 240 as a perm in April, but that may be a stretch as it appears to have the kind of AAA points that are normally a year's worth but all in one go.

Ho ho - some nice hills in that lot!

I had dreams of one day having a go at The Old 240 in mid-summer, if I ever got fit enough to do it in the maximum 17 hours of daylight available. 14.8 mph average speed for 252 very hard, hilly miles (23.9 kph for 406 km) - hmm ...? It will probably never happen now but that would be one of my biggest cycling ambitions.

First 200 of the year ticked off a fortnight ago, and next one on Saturday. 300s planned in April and May, 400 in May and 600 in June (trying not to make that the Pendle - 10.5 AAA points in 600km is a bit too hilly for me).

Need to get quicker but otherwise ok so far.

Did the Mere 200 in January followed by the North west passage 200 in February and I'm doing the Delightful dales as an ECE to round it up to 300km this month . Planning on doing the Plains 300 and the Red Rose 200 next month followed by the Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch 400 in May then the 3 coast's 600 at the beginning of June if all goes to plan .
