I had a very silly 'off' about ten days ago, just setting off from the house (in France), the road outside the house is a fairly steep hill, I'd gone about two yards when I realised I was on a collision course with Mrs P, so I lurched to the left, left foot not yet in clip slips off pedal, and down I go on my right side, trapping my right leg under the bike and under my full (not inconsiderate) weight.
Result is: wife extricates me somehow; ride abandoned; a slightly bruised knee and sprained ankle, both of which have now cleared up, and a painfully pulled muscle (so it seems) on the front of my thigh, which hasn't. For a couple of days it was very painful, especially trying to raise my right leg forwards, but it seemed to go after two days and I was OK for walking and even cycling, though it still hurts to swing the right leg over the saddle.
Now the ache in the thigh is back accompanied by numbness coupled with a sort of hot sensation, all down the front of the thigh to the knee. I can still walk and cycle OK, short distances. The worst is sitting for long periods, after a while I just have to get up and walk around: that eases it off.
What have I done to myself?
