LED Wheel Valve Caps

I was browsing on Ebay, and came across various postings selling these Neon wheel valve caps.

While obviously running the risk of being featured on pimp my ride, I'd still take that chance if it makes my commuting bike more visible at night.

Has anyone seen/used these, and are they legal?

Apologies if this thread has already been done - I couldn't see anything.

I've used them a few times on night rides & the Dun Run. They're certainly useful to attract attention when you're passing side roads. Plus if you go for the multi-coloured ones they can help enhance the hallucinations on the Dun Run.

Blue ones certainly wouldn't be legal but I'm not so sure about other colours. Assuming you've got a full set of front & rear lights I wouldn't worry.

I seen those too. I must admit I hadn't thought of them as extra visibility but as something for chavs. But I suppose anything that makes a bike more visibile to myopic drivers, the better.

They do look amazing in action but most available are poor copies of the original Fireflies so are rubbish quality and don't work for very long.

Thanks for all the advise everyone. As they are relatively cheap I think I might give them a go and will let you know what I think. Hopefully I won't look like a chav in lycra!
