Nipped in to Park Lane LBS in Macclesfield for grease and cone spanner. He had the grease but could not find the right size cone spanner. "Don't worry" he said as he went through to the back workshop. In a couple of minutes he returned. "Here you are" he said as he handed me a used cone spanner. "Take mine, no charge, I'll get another one next week". Brilliant service. That wouldn't have happened at Halfords. Cheers. Richard.

My Local LBS " Finches " in Reigate have customer service second to none and are the difference between me buying a new bike from them and the Giant that is Evans without a smile

I have used Spokes in Epping or Stanley Bridge Cycles in Waltham Abbey (where I bought my Trek), both shops offering good service. However, somewhere you may not immediately think of is Coyles Car Care at Staple Tye. It is a car spares shop with a bike department. The guy in there is excellent and very reasonable.

Last year when I was looking for a dealer from which to buy my new bike I went to a LBS in Ware. I had an idea of the make and model I wanted which is why I chose this particular shop as they were listed as Trek dealers. I asked the man in the shop if he had the bike in stock and essentially I received the one word answer "No", with which he turned his back on me and returned to what he was doing. No suggestion of another model or the possibility of getting one in, just no interest whatever. Needless to say I went elsewhere and spent my money.

I will say that the chippies a few doors down from that LBS supplied us with lovely fish and chips that we sat in the car and ate. If the bike dealer was half as good as the chippie he would sell out in no time.

My lbs doesn't stock cube and i had long decided that i wanted one. Anyway to cut a tale short i get minor adjustments done on it for free. Mind you, i have bought several bikes from them including 2 last October.
Soon as i pop my head round the door i get asked if i would like a coffee.
