Alarm goes off, I get out of bed, drink a cup of tea and jump on the bike (somewhere in there I get dressed.) It is a lot easier when you are commuting as you have to get on the bike.

You need a 'destination' rather than just riding around the block. It's all in the mind, if you were going somewhere you really want to go, you get up & go out no matter what the weather.

After the alarm it's all autopilot until I'm out the door. Thankfully to date the autopilot works and I haven't forgotten anything!

Lots of filter coffee.
And then if the weather is still bad, likely more lots of filter coffee.

Happened today.

Week days its just a routine, I've been at this job for almost four years and the quarter to six alarm is just normal, if the alarm doesn't go off I wake up anyway. I've been cycle commuting in total for over thirty years, riding my bike to work is just part of life's routine, though for the last eighteen months I have been running a car as well as the bikes, if its raining when I get up these days I reach for the car keys instead of the bike. On a Sunday its different, if the weathers bad I just go back to sleep, its a non essential bike ride I can have a lie in and treat it as a rest Sunday then ride the next Sunday if the weather has improved.
Try and work out a routine for the mornings and stick to it, after a while it will become normal.

As I see it I only get a certain amount of hours in each day, I want to spend as many of them living that I can.

5am till 10.30 is my daytime, the rest is recharge time.
