i hate hills too, im 100kilo so not as much as some people on the forum, im not what you would call fat just muscley and i usually ride with a bergen on my back weighing a good 10+kilo ive found going out just to ride hills helped me alot you just need the motivation and discipline, i find just slow down before the hill ( dont rush up in the hardest gear you can to gain disance) just sit back at the bottom and spin away at a comftorable pace then drop back abit from what you feel comftorable then you wont fade at all, thats got me from bottom of the leaderboard to a few kom's in a few months  this also appeared on the video i thought it was quite funny...lol

At 14st something, (It varies quite a lot!) I have stopped worrying and just gear down and get to the top. Makes for a slower ride but I'm not in the Tour, so why worry?

Yes, not worried at all: it's purely a motivational thing. I want to get fitter and lose weight, so attacking hills successfully is part of that.

Also, when I occasionally go out with other riders, it would be nice to stop having to play catch-up after a hill!

Strava is just an awesome motivational fitness tool, compete against yourself, your peers or just everyone!

Good luck @Suffolk Cycling I hope you achieve your goal, which I am sure you will.

Looking on Strava, you are quite near me (Rushmere Road). Would be worth setting up a privacy zone in Strava if you haven't done so already.

I must give the Playford hill a go myself one day, it doesn't feature on any of my regular routes, other than to the pub in Grundisburgh and I am not segment chasing then

I'm well over 20 stone but enjoy hills. I take them steadily and get into a rhythm pedalling but they are things to enjoy. Being bigger, I usually catch up on the down hills.

Great for the leg muscles. My belly is big but my calves are currently 22 inches of solid muscle

This is the profile of my mid week 20 mile evening ride. 3 mile, 800ft climb. London 100 next week
