I built a rather nice front wheel on a Goldtec front hub (bought at a bargain price at the CTC York shindig) a few years back - as far as I know they're still available, but probably more expensive, and damn fine. Popular with couriers in that London, due to their general brilliance and longevity (the hub, not the couriers, obviously). Alternatively, Spa have the Zenith, which looks useful - I haven't tried this; if you get one, be aware that it comes without a skewer. I'm sure there are many more out there, but probably not in your LBS.
