Another vote for Acer... currently using a 3+ year old one with an Intel Core 2 T5500 with 2.5Gb RAM, Vista Home Premium and 105Gb HD. Had no problems whatsoever, and only looking to replace it because the shared graphics card can't cope with full screen HD video, and Photoshop Elements is 'a bit slow'.
That 5734 looks like a good buy IMHO.
Although you're unlikely to find it on a new laptop, avoid Vista at all costs... it's Devil's spawn
