LAPD Cycle locking advice

Found this advice from the LAPD. Illustrated sensible stuff.
Can't see what they have against the 'wave' style racks though, thought these encouraged U-locks around the bottom bracket area.

Nice and clear. Good idea about address card in the fame and writing name and address on rim strip.

Wonder why they don't recommend the 'wave' shaped bike rack?

i wonder why they recommend mstreetposts and parking meters. a bike can easily be lifted over the top of them.

And why they think that locking a bike to a parking meter is secure? (Unless the bike weighs a ton, you could just lift it off and walk away with it!)

With the "wave" style is there more options for purchase and leverage with a crow bar?

Those wavy stands are everywhere! As regards 'leverage points' and crowbars etc, I thought the tools of choice these days were cordless grinders and freezer spray aerosols.

liquid nitrogen i could understand as it would make the lock brittle but i don't think freeze sprays go that cold
