I was fortunate to have been in Glasgow when he did his first twitter ride. It was a blast, hard work and I will admit to being one of the fortunate riders who managed to finish the ride with him only because he slowed on the final ride back into Paisley allowing me to get back on to the peloton. Good luck any CC riders who take on this challenge. I cycled a long weekend in the Dornoch region about 2 years ago and loved it - beautiful scenery.
Seems like a good turn out, 1000+, no wonder he does it in the less populated area's, he'd probably be mobbed by vast hordes anywhere else, more riders than a lot of sportives etc, and only about 12 hours notice.
Second time riding with LA, this time i managed to keep up the whole way - average speed was about 19ish.
Good ride, got soaked halfway through and it was a bit crazy at times with people jockying to get close to him - saw a couple of crashes as a result this and the wet roads. This time i didnt get the chance to ride right next to him and speak - At the start people seemed to go up have their moment then let someone else come through but after a while there were a handful of riders not budging so they could ride alongside him the whole way - pretty selfish and part of the reason for it being so hectic behind him. But a great experience, even without the star attraction it would have been good - cyclists taking over the roads is always a pleasure
Looks to be some good cycling up there will hope to come back for a bit longer and do some of it in the future
