anyone know of any UK stockists of either Paul Components Gino or Issmo NOB XL or something similar that would let me mount a pair of lamps low down on my (non suspension) front fork. Bike has drop bars with no room on them for lamps or extra lamp brackets....

Have to say the Gino is an elegant solution but at $20 each the cost of shipping $38 to UK is a bit silly....

I'd be interested in this too, as my girlfriend has nowhere to mount here light when she uses her bar bag on her tourer

watch this space. I may get 10 and re-sell them here and on CTC Forum to mitigate the shipping & duty. Did it once before with some mudguard mounting battery lamps.

I have one of them, which I use with a Fenix LED torch as an auxiliary light on my bike (my main front light is a hub dynamo-powred B & M Cyo IQ), though find it slips around the handlebars too easily, especially if wet
I've never used mine in the wet but I can see that being a problem. I'd be dubious of mounting anything on the forks for that reason.

SJS has a bar bag mount which could also be used for lights if you have space on the steerer tube:

http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/src/froo...ssory-Bar-T-Shaped-105-mm-Extension-11040.htm

I'd be interested in a fork mount anyhow, to avoid a barbag currently have lights bodged onto the front lowrider with hoseclips, but nice to have another option.

I specifically want to mount a pair of battery powered bar mounting lamps somewhere else ideally (much) lower down on the forks. Fork crown brackets are no good as they aren't designed for bar mounting lamps and I have too many bikes across which I share lamps to invest in several hub dyno's.

That steerer bracket is a great idea but poorly executed IMO. It would be a good compromise for me I think but it is 27mm high. I don't know that many people with over an inch of stack on their aheadset and I sure ain't one but I guess SJS have built it for robustness and ease of construction rather than convenient fitting. Shame because, at the price, if it was not as high I'd give it a go. If they made a fork crown mounting version it would sell like hot cakes I reckon.

Surely it's easy enough to make your own version of a Paul Components Gino from a bit of broom handle with a long bolt through the middle?

yep. Could well do but somehow bolting a lump of wood to my lovely bike's fork doesn't really appeal. :bravo: each to their own. Now a Chateau Margaux cork, on the other hand, might add a certain je me sais quoi to the proceedings.......

....seriously though neatly cut hardwood painted black would do the trick and look ok, and be a lot cheaper.

But you've set me thinking outside the box I think I've got a stack of old Pace RC series MTB suspension fork elastomers somewhere that might be roughly the right size. Already got holes in the middle, good degree of vibration damping. Nice stainless allen screw and washer to hold them on to the existing low rider boss and job could be a good un.

have ended up with

2 x Passport Fork Lamp Brackets and 1 x Minoura Swing Grip Bracket

Currently the former are deployed one per leg and carry a single LED battery lamp on a handlebar bracket and the latter is fitted upside down (hanging down from the stem) so my Ay-Up lamps are mounted under the small Altura bar bag I sometimes carry.

Greg - where did you end up buying the Passport Lamp Brackets from? You can't seem to order direct from the link you gave. Thanks!
