Ksyrium Elite or Fulcrum 3

Can anyone advise the differences between the two above and which you would prefer. The Mavics are new (2012 version) at 345 euros the pair and the fulcrums are new (2013 version) 369 euros the pair.

Honestly - i'll bet there's a nat's whiskers between them that you will notice.

Personally - I ride Zonda's which are very much like the 3's. My only gripe is that replacement spokes come in kits (2 of each) whereas Mavics can be bought singly.

(both have well made spokes but if you get your rear mech caught in the wheel it can take more than two out )

What Pete said apart from complete spoke kits are available to special order from Campag, Zonda Front 33ZOB, Rear 34ZOB, Rear R/H (14) 34ZOBR

I bought some Fulcrum 4s (Quattros) and was very disappointed with them - the rear wheel had to be sent back and rebuilt after just 200 miles! If it happens again I'll claim on the warranty for a refund

I loved my Fulcrum 3's only downside is they appear to only be sold in Wheelsets, and I am quite heavy on the rear brake so munched through a rim in 3000-4000 miles 75% of those miles were in the winter. Couldn't see if they had a wear indicator but the braking surface was concaved and as far as I was prepared to take it!
