The only down side was we were on the plane when the latest Kraftwerk tickets went on sale, by the time we had got to Glasgow they had all sold.

Haven't you heard?? That one has been cancelled!

Phew I was mistaken, I just looked it up, looks like its the same thing they did at the Tate a while ago, we managed to get tickets (eventually, there is a post on the lengths my wife went to to get them on here somewhere) to the Electric Cafe night there.
Hope you have a great time!

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that they will put on more dates in the UK next year, the venues they booked were pretty small so no wonder they sold out in minutes. I'm hoping that they do the Bluedot festival at Jodrell Bank, it was fantastic there this year with Jean-Michel Jarre.

I got a ticket for Ralf and co at the Albert Hall. Only the second time I've seen them, first was the midnight show at Brixton on the last full tour back in 2004. Rumour is they're playing Glastonbury...
Fancied Bluedot but had other plans. Seeing M Jarre in Brighton on Thursday though!

Still kicking myself for not going to see Kraftwerk at Tribal Gathering in the 90s. But if they do do Jodrell Bank, I'll try my best to get myself there. It's the greatest venue i've ever had to joy to visit (saw Flaming Lips there).
The weird thing about Krautrock was that by the 80s almost nobody in Germany had heard of any of the bands apart from Kraftwerk.
True.
I was in Germany on business a couple of months ago and although I can't speak German my pronunciation isn't too bad, we got to talking about how come ( probably a combination of doing a little bit of German at school and my love of Krautrock bands) and when I was talking about the German bands I like they had never heard of them, except as you say, for Kraftwerk.

99 Red Balloons. That was by a German band that wasn't Kraftwerk if my memory serves me well. Probably misses out on your "bands I like" criteria though :-)
