Recently bought the above bike which has a 3 speed internal hub gears and the rear brake activates by back pedaling. Cant get on with this so was wondering if the brake mechanism can be disabled or not?

USed this sort of brake in Germany years ago. You still need a back brake, you can't just disable it.

Was planning on fitting a rear brake. Just dont like the current set up because you cant even set your pedal in the correct position for setting off without having to mess around picking the back wheel up off the ground. Just very inconvenient, plus it doesnt coast very well....there is always a bit of drag from the hub brake.
