New bike is here, sorted by the LBS, ridden about 10 miles on and off road (large local park) and now has dirty tyres :bicycle:

Photos here (sorry they're not great)!

Knobbly tyres and suspension - good fun on grass and grit, hard work on the road compared to fast hybrid and road bike. Different beast, need to find some 'proper' rough terrain :hyper:

Lovely smooth gear change from the Deore XT derailleur, need to get used to the disc brakes

Cheers

The chap at the LBS said it was a lot of bike for the money, was a bit of a bargain - and it is the right size (although it does feel small compared to the other bikes, guess it's all due to geometry - this is a women-specific bike while the others are not)

Not sure I like the grips, my hands started to ache - may need some fatter, ergo ones - but will see how I get on

Frankly I am not even going to bother - it was bought for off road

I did get rid of the worst of it with a post off road, on road ride! It wasn't 'mud' that I was worried about!

Those Kona ones are slimmer than standard.

Ergo are comfy, but designed more for distance.... you need to play out on that Lisa^_^

My CX bike tyres always look grubby, when you find out how to clean yours let me know
I'm a bit sad, but I get a washing up bowl full of soapy water, and a washing up brush. Wheels off the bike and held over the washing up bowl for an entertaining ten minutes or so of scrubbing:blush: ...... keep your mind off the fags Pottsy!
