I cycled to my part time job, I've not worked there since summer and I knew it would be dark on the way home at 5.30. I have a good cateye light but I wanted a secondary one as the road home doesn't have street lights (other than for a mile or so either end, of the 15 mile journey).

I went into the independant bike shop but their selection was quite poor (and I thought quite expensive). The only other bike shop in Dorking is Bikehut (forgive me, but the guys who work there helped me out of a situation with my shoe stuck in the cleet and have been helpful when I've asked things before).

There wasn't really much there that I liked the look off and one of the guys in there showed me these...Knogs. It's just one LED but you can attach it anywhere really. They have front and rear ones. They can't be used as a primary light, but I've just attached mine to my helmet camera as a rear light...just encase my main one is missed.

If you're after just a small light I'd highly recommend it, it's weights near to nothing and it did make me feel safer (ish) on my dark, journey home.

here are some links to where you can buy it at wiggle!

Rear light: (what i have)

Also has a front light:

I am tempted to purchase a white light tomorrow for the front of my bike. The flash is pretty good!! Mine is in a lovely lime green too

Probikekit were doing the two light kit (front and rear) for a tenner recently - they really are very good little lights as backups or helmet lights.

My rear red one gave up the ghost after very little use. It was attached to my helmet for ages and rarely used (it was a back-up) and then stopped working after a battery replacement. The design is clever but the electronics and circuit board appear to be quite vulnerable.

Well, I've bought a front one. If they do run out really quickly I'll just take them back as faulty.

For what they are they are a little overpriced, but they are cheaper than similar products.

Time will only tell how they last.
