I had one two weeks ago and a tear repaired bone reshaped and a general clean out . My question is any one else had same and still feel some pain after this time ? Not the same pain as before but just not back to normal.
Went on my roadie on turbo tonight with no resistance just pedal free and motion was here did this for 20 minutes. But tried to stand on pedals and this was a no go as it caused pain in my knee. No physio for another 10 days . Basically looking for re assurance I guess

I had the same done 8 weekd ago now - but i never had any pain at all during my revcovery - but i didnt cycle for at least 3 weeks after mine and my physio told me a could ride but only on the flat, no hills and defo no standing on the pedals.

You had a tear repaired so you need to be more careful.

Yes sounds like it pain is not like it was before and I called and asked they said could use an exercise bike but don't have one . Luckily doc is a cyclist when I told him about turbo he said ok with no resistance . But guess I got clever trying to stand will just stick to 15-20 mins turning the legs . Thanks for reply did you have a repair as well?

In most cases, 3-6 months until the knee will feel normal, if you take it easy and do your physio

Your knee has been through a trauma even if the holes are small - incisions, filled with fluid, it's been poked, the bone scraped and soft tissue cut...it's going to feel 'off' for a while  Assume the meniscus was trimmed, if repaired, you need to be much more cautious and likely on crutches

After my second scope, I used an exercise bike after a couple of week, out gently on the road after 6 (it was winter)

Just seen this,i have had three of those done over the years.Rest for about six weeks. Then bingo, build up the muscle loss with the easy to do exercises. And away you go.I just had six weeks off the bike due to gallbladder removal. Two weeks of the old knee exercises from the physio from years back. And hey presto muscle def on it's way back. You will be ok.

I have had 1 on either knee and then an ACL on each knee afterwards. What ever you do, do not push yourself and listen to your body and physio!!!!

1. Spin on your bike but with no resistance
2. increase your strength in your quads and hamstrings...very important.
3. Your Physio should of given you exercises to do the day of the op. do them.

In 6 weeks time you feel a lot better, but do not over do it.

Thanks guys
Guess I was just hoping for a miracle I just can't do with doing nothing .
Do my exercises 4 times a day as suggested.
First physio on Friday ( trust it to be the bloody 13th)
And just checked and it def says meniscus repair not trimmed so can only assume its was repaired. But was told did not need crutches .
3weeks off work is driving me nuts as well I'm the boss and although staff are reliable they are never as good as you..

That's fairly quick recovery. Sound much less painful than shoulder arthroscope op. I felt like I'd had a fight with a gorilla. Got on the bike within two weeks, and was back commuting by bike after 7. Off work 5 weeks !
