I haven't cycled for just over a month now because of health issues and now my knee has started to hurt from time to time and also my leg feels very stiff and aching.

Is this normal?
Is there anything I can do?

Keep riding, but back off the intensity. If that doesn't do it then a week out the saddle. If that don't do it then go see a quack.

While you're mulling that go check your bike is set up right for you.

Any clicking or giving way go see your GPs for orthopaedic referral. Just pain take some over the counter pain relief.
Also cycling is very good for knees and swimming also but as above proper bike fit is essential.

Stretch your leg muscles properly after cycling and indeed daily regardless of cycling  a sports physio would be the right place to go if it doesn't get better. Are you resting between rides? Or are you not riding and the aches and pains are not caused by cycling? Your post isn't entirely clear

How old are you? Stiff and aching can be sign of arthritis? Where in the leg and knee is the pain? Does it also occur at night?
What are the other health issues to which you refer?

Clicking without pain doesn't always need medical attention, joints do click, especially as we get older . You should hear my joints, ok some of them are knackered, others aren't buy they still click!

The standard responses - go and see your GP. Piss off. Bits hurt, for various reasons that do not require wasting the time of a GP, who will most likely have not a fecking clue and say something along the lines of "rest up a bit" or "eat a banana".

I've got a bit of a sore leg this evening - I am remedying it via the medium of wine. Go for it!

It's okay. I'm off my tits on beer and wine.

Yes, normal if you haven't exercised for a month. Use lower gears than usual and build up slowly.
