Sorry if this question seems a bit anal BUT .....
..... I have over the past 3 years or so ALWAYS used the KMC X10 SL chain. It is excellent, lasts quite long ( go thru bout 2 per year ) and
at 240g extremely light. I have been getting mine from Merlin Cycles at usually about £32 or so .. always seems cheaper than anywhere else I might online purchase from ( Wiggle etc etc ). Anyhoo looked today and this would now cost me £45 or so from Merlin ! .. so I assume a heck of a lot more from the other usual suspects. Question is ( cos I cannot for the life of me find this info ), what does the non SL version ( think it`s called X10 ) weigh ? .. Cos I cannot be forking out £90 a year in chains !

Wow and there was me thinking I was forking out too much for my SRAM PC890's at 15 quid.

I have a brand spanker, KMC X10.93 and it weighs in at 272grms, 112 links including the cellophane wrapper and manufacturers lube. So when cut to length, there may not be much difference in weight to the SL, so its down to how much mileage you do if they work out cheaper in the long run

I have used these chains all the time and I have been averaging about 1200 miles a chain. My last chain though lasted exactly double, 2400 miles, and I think this was because I changed from lubing with Finishline Wet to Chain-L

If you shop around you can often find them on sale for around £17 so I buy about 3 at a time

Ta for ALL replies spesh that Weight Weenies link. Not a great deal of weight diff between an X10 SL ( 240g ) and X10 L ( 254g ) ... absolutely shocked at that if it`s accurate cos the X10 L is about half the price ( well £10 cheaper based on Ribbles offers ). Ta again for all replies - very useful.
