Sportive Rece Rides - 8th April

This is an open invite from the KCC to join them for their Sunday club rides on Sunday 8th April (Easter Sunday). That day the routes will be over part of the Sportive Kinross Red and Black routes. If you have entered the event and want a sneak preview with like minded cyclists, haven’t been able to get a place and just want to do the ride in a group or are interested in joining KCC then come along.
Please note that this is an informal ride. There will be no signs, no marshalls, no food or drink (bring your own) and KCC members will try to assist and guide where possible but cannot be responsible for the groups safety and direction.

Click on the following links for the Bike Route Toaster maps

Red Ride 09:00 73 Km

Black Ride 08:30 101 km

These are NOT the full routes. From Kinross we will head straight for Aberargie via Glenfarg. We will then pick up the routes and follow them back to Kinross.

Black route group will leave the Kinross Surgery (just across the road from the Loch Leven Community Campus) at 08:30 prompt.

The Red route group will leave Loch Leven Community Campus at 09:00 (again please be prompt)

Looks interesting, though I would probably only do the Red Route and I imagine I'm a bit slow so may be better on my own...

If it was on the saturday i would be up for it but sundays are pretty much a no go for me

I'd be up for doing a leisurely tour of the Red Route on Saturday AM (if I can sort out my on-call this weekend) if anyone else is?? My average only works out at 13ish mph. Mark

What time you thinking about Mark?

10am-ish again? Or whenever really, just thought earlier the better for traffic. I'm down for on-call Saturday 08-18:00 and was thinking of going out Sunday however I can probably swap it if you were free.

Yeah that sounds good to me  you wanting to just cycle to kinross and do the route or drive up and do the route?

I think just cycle the whole route, let me check my on-call tonight and I'll get back to you.

If the weather is decent I'll be there, just got to decide on Red or Black route as I'll be cycling there and back so thats an extra 25 miles to consider.

I've started a thread in the "Informal Rides" section for a CC Ecosse Leisurely Recce of the Kinross Sportive Red Route this Saturday (7 April) if anyone can't make Sundays' "official" recce. Regards, Mark

Change of plans for me on Sunday, won't have the car so will be staying this side of the Forth, so most likely Sunday club run for me.

Sportive Rece Rides - 8th April

Are you doing the sportive this weekend? I've received two emails both promising a unique link to download a registration form but neither email has such a link. Neither do the emails that my wife received.

Am I the only one?

I have had 2 emails providing ride information. The hyperlink you refer to is directly below your event number and route.

If you are not seeing the link there is a chance that you are receiving your email in a text format and not in an HTML format. The HTML option allows for hyperlinking where as the text (basic) format does not.

Are you using a client (for instance Outlook Express, Outlook) to mange your mail? If so you can Google to discover how you switch on the HTML option.
