Kinky

My front deraillier outer cable, changing perfectly so no problem just me being OCD but instead of being in a smooth curve it has a slight kink in it. What could be causing it ? I thought the outer cable might just be a bit more brittle than usual ? New cables outer and inner.

Without seeing it, its hard to picture/ diagnose, its might have been crimped at one time.

If there's a distinct kink it will be a wear point. I'd probably ride on until it frayed the inner then replace both inner and outer.

Brand new cables just a few hundred miles done with them .....

Doesn't matter how old they are though, if they're kinked tthey are kinked and will, in time, need to be replaced.
