My friends son has been and watched my son racing and is now tempted, looking for a 24" road bike (pref with option of taking cx tyres)

Is there much between the Frog and Islabikes? Looking at either Frog 67 or Islabike Luath - or are there any other contenders out there from other brands that are similar quality?

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
@Yazzoo - both bikes are good and are common on the race circuit. The Islabike's likely to hold it's value a bit better. If they're thinking of cyclocross as well then either of these will do both, as will the Worx 24".

A purely track alternative is the Felt Jr F24 which is excellent.

I started my youngest out on a Decathlon Triban Junior which was too heavy tbh. He quickly moved onto a (loaned) 24" wheel Giant road bike which was so much better.

There are cheaper alternatives from Dawes, Moda and similar that will do track and cross but I found both heavy and poorly equipped.

Oh wow, a Wiggins bike would certainly go down well - that kinda thing is important when you're 8 - does anyone know how that compares to the frog/isla in terms of weight/spec?

Not seen 'aHoy', will look them up!
