I think I might just buy myslef one of these when they become available AND they are workign ona back light too.

They boast it is anti-theft and almost indestructable. Totally waterproof and you get 100 hours from 3 AA batteries ustilising 6 LED lights.

how is this any better than a removeable light or any other light with a security torx fastener?

If you just wanted to remove the thing, you could easily give it a swift kick and pull the steel bolt right through the soft alloy thread in a jiffy anyway, such a large object on such a small clamp with a tiny fastener means you could get a fair bit of leverage on the clamp. All of this could be avoided if you make it removeable...

I suspect it's a solution looking for a problem.

$70 for a "Be seen" light? The 40 to 60 lumen rating is also slightly disappointing, when they easily could have fitted one of the lower end Cree LED's.
