Really piss me off!

That's twice in as many days that I've typed up a reply to a thread only to accidentally hit a shortcut and close the browser! I don't even know what the shortcut is :0(

Who are these things for? Why is the computer in 'geek' setting by default? Morons...

Maybe you need a keyboard with bigger keys to suit your trotters.

I was nowhere near F4 though. The windows key maybe.

Are you using IE? Maybe you're hitting ctrl+w instead of shift+w. ctrl+w will close a tab in Firefox, but it closes the browser in IE.

I use keyboard shortcuts all the time. I really get pissed off when some programmes suppress the standard Windows shortcuts. In windows I use Executor to create additional shortcuts to launch programmes or run simple commands or scripts. In Firefox I use SiteLauncher to define additional shortcuts to sites - ctrl+shift+c opens CycleChat Cafe, ctrl+shift+r opens The Register, ctrl+shift+t opens Ars Technica, and so on. Ubiquity handles additions additional text shortcuts.

Not having Keyboard Shortcuts would just make everything so much more of a slog

Could be. It only happens at work so IE must be set up differently there.
