The routesheet has been updated to reflect a different location for the Penzance control - it's not in Penzance anymore, it's in Long Rock. If you're riding, download the latest: www.ukcyclist.co.uk/ksw600 and note that the gpx file is not updated, so you'll need to navigate just that bit.

Cross fingers for the weather.

(Mini ride report, full version will go on YACF.)

The weather wasn't too bad at all. Bit of a headwind out to Bude but it didn't hinder progress too much, sheltered for most of the run up/down/up/down to Looe.

Pig of a headwind from Looe to Penzance (by this time I was lanterne rouge) but then that was pretty much it. Gently pushed back up to Bude via Newquay (mainly in the drizzle for me). Got to the sleep stop at 4.45pm-ish (about an hour later than I'd expected).

Well looked after at Bude (food and a sleep) and then back out on the road at 7.15am with one other (last again). Made good time in the sun, and tailwind, to Taunton Deane Services then West Coker. Sheltered from the wind (by the large hills) between Crewkerne and Seaton (almost taken out by a badger on the descent to Seaton). Left there just after 7pm for the final grimp home now that the wind had mainly dropped, lovely descent from the Halfway Inn through Aylesbeare back to Exeter.

Rolled in to the finish at 9.30pm to claim my SR and PBP qualification.

Glad I took the geared bike, I would have been in trouble on fixed (but if there's a next time i'll probably do it on fixed).

Many thanks to IanH and all of the helpers for a lovely weekend out on the bike. Cracking ride, definitely recommended.
