Hi all,

I'm planning a ride from Edenbridge in West Kent to Yeovil in a (long) day. Can anyone tell me if there is a website out there that can help you plan routes on B roads alone? Its a long shot and if not I'll just have to get the OS out.

cheers

bleurgh, something that does work with google maps is routing it then skipping over the route and dragging it off any scary looking roads

I use cycle streets sometimes but have issues picking the route I want it not the one it wants

dragging and dropping is working (sort of). I'll back it up with a couple of OS maps. here goes one of my dafter ideas, 10 hours should do it. cheers

if you drag and drop, and get a route you like you can then send it to yourself, preserving it for all time (or for as long as the internet lasts)

I've always had a lot of luck with viamichelin.com. If you choose "cycling" as the transport type it seems to find the absolutely shortest route - which rarely includes major roads. However, I keep having problems getting the website to behave. See how it goes for you.

Cheers Pol, It works (mostly) I think this may be a on the cards, It says it'll take me 16 hours, I was thinking more like 10!

ridewithgps.com is an excellent site and better than most of the competitors. I gave up on mapmyride as there are simply too many ads etc
