Just very sad

The Belgian track specialist, Dimitri de Fauw is reported to have taken his own life. He seems to have been fighting depression since 2006 when he was involved in a crash at the Gent track that killed another rider, Isaac Galvez. I just find this very sad... RIP.

Gosh that is very sad yes indeed, depression is a terrible thing and something not alot of people that have never had it, understand

Sad news indeed, I remember the accident when Isaac Galvez died but as I recall it was an accident and no blame was pointed at anyone else. As others have said depression must be a terrible thing to experience. RIP!

There is a condition called 'survivor's guilt' - and even though de Fauw was not blamed, I guess he felt he could not live with what he felt was his responsibility...
