Well I've just come in from a record breaking distance and fell off :blush:

Did my usual, stepped out of the left cleat and turned right, car park and getting off point looms, change all the way down and step out of right cleat, and step off. Only this time I didn't  bloody shoe had quietly slipped back into cleat hadn't it, looked a right clown. Gravel rash on my lower right leg and it's quite sore

Oops, make sure you clean that leg well to avoid infection. IIRC you have a history of blood infection so might be worth getting it looked at by a nurse

Feel your pain, last Wednesday on the way home I had to give way to oncoming traffic on a narrow lane where a tree had come down.

When it was my turn I strayed into sand, it was much deeper than I expected, wheel gave way and I went down liked a sack of spuds.

Have bruised or broken ribs and in a lot of pain.

It was a very poor judgement and decision making by me. I should have fully unclipped, let the car completely pass and stayed well away from the sand. I expect to be off the bike for at least a week.

Upside was driver stopped to check I was okay, and a fellow cyclist rode with me a few minutes. Managed to find and thank him on Strava a few hours later.

Oh dear, good of the driver and the cyclist though

Yes they were both very nice and a reminder that not everyone in a car is out to get cyclists.
